Het Anker celebrates 50 years

We are proud to have been a part of the recent 50th anniversary of one of our valued customers, Het Anker, based in the Netherlands.

On April 1st, 1967 Mr. T. Klaassen en Mr. Marinus Vroegindeweij bought a farm and equipped it with three second hand setters and a hatcher. During the first year the company sold 150,000 day old chicks. Since 2013 Het Anker has been a minority shareholder in the joint venture Isacom BV and currently distributes Dekalb White.

This milestone was celebrated by hosting a seminar and social gathering for 400 guests based on the theme of collaboration and reflecting on the past. Speakers included Dr. Ruth Bouwstra, Poultry Division Director of GD Deventer, who presented on poultry health in the past, present and future as well as Frans van Sambeek, Director of Research and Development at Hendrix Genetics Layers, on the evolution of layer genetics.

Last year, Het Anker hatched 13 million day old chicks. The majority is reared in their own integration to a pullet and sold in the Dutch, Belgian and German market.

Thank you to Het Anker for including Hendrix Genetics in such a momentous celebration!
